Gender and Sexualities Advisory Group

A Note About This Project

The Gender and Sexualities Advisory Group is no longer active. This work now continues through the Jean Miller Resource Room (JMRR) and the JMRR Advisory Committee.

Vision Statement

The LGBTQQI Advisory Committee was a coalition of faculty, administrators, classified professionals and students committed to creating a campus climate that embraces, celebrates and respects the involvement, presence and contributions of our LGBTQQI community members. Together, with our campus allies, this coalition worked to address gaps in community awareness, knowledge, and action through related programs, initiatives, and support services.

  • To create a safe and welcoming environment for all students, staff, faculty and community; that is inclusive of all people regardless of sexual and gender identity
  • To encourage exploration of sexual and gender presentation, behavior and expression
  • To challenge gender and sexual oppression bias, discrimination of all forms and institutional practices
  • To celebrate and honor all people who paved the way and lived their truth daily
