Student Equity Plan Vote - revisit

Mieso addressed the vote that was taken in the June 3rd meeting regarding approving the Student Equity Plan. The agenda item was listed as informational with discussion but at the end, the committee was asked to approve the plan, changing the agenda item to an action item. After further review, it was determined that the item was indeed only informational and did not need to be approved by SSPBT. It will be presented to College Council in the fall after the comments from all the committees has been reviewed and voted on then.

Mieso then asked the committee to nullify the vote. The motion was seconded and the vote was nullified. A notation will be placed in the June 3rd meeting notes regarding this action.

    Annual Governance Reflection and Handbook

The membership for SSPBT was reviewed and the following changes were made:

    • The “at large” would be added to both the Classified and Faculty membership
    • Teamsters would be contacted to see if they would like a representative on SSPBT
      • This would change the bargaining unit from 2 to 3

The changes were seconded and a majority vote approved the changes. Teamsters will be contacted and the changes sent to Mallory Newell to update the Governance Handbook.
