You can speak with a counselor by scheduling an appointment or dropping in virtually during our remote and in-person office hours.

    If you're in your first or second quarter at De Anza, or if you're in the De Anza Promise program, you should contact the Office of Outreach for counseling and other assistance.

    If you've completed two or more quarters, and you're not in a program with its own counselors, the General Counseling Center is the place to come for assistance with planning and achieving your academic, career, transfer and personal goals.

    Continuing or Returning Students (Zoom Drop-in Only)

    Drop-in sessions are a way to ask quick counseling questions. The meetings are only 10-15 minutes and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Meetings are hosted by academic counselors.

    How to "Drop In" During the Hours Below

    • Click the gold button below and sign in with your 8-digit student ID and date of birth (MMDDYYYY).
    • Click the blue Drop-In button. If the "Drop-In" button is greyed out, it means counselors or advisers are with another student. Please check back later during the drop-in hours listed below. 
    • When it's your turn, a Zoom link will be available on the drop-in page and you will receive the Zoom link via email. 
     

    Virtual (Zoom) Drop-in Schedule
    Note: Drop-in schedule is subect to change at any time

    • Monday: 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
    • Tuesday: 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
    • Wednesday and Thursday: 12:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
     
     
     

    NOTE: Please keep in mind that drop-in hours can get busy. You will be seen on a first-come, first-served basis. Please be patient. A counselor will be with you once it's your turn. We stop adding students to the queue 15-minutes before closing time.

Making the Most of Your Meeting

  • Before you meet with a counselor, prepare a list of questions that you want to ask.
  • Bring any relevant documents such as your unofficial transcripts from other colleges, your educational plan and any other records that may be related to the issues you want to discuss.

  • Be on time! If you miss two appointments, you may lose your appointment privileges.
